Puerto Vallarta’s Malecón to Undergo Major Renovation

Puerto Vallarta’s iconic Malecón is set for a significant revitalization, thanks to an investment exceeding 18 million pesos. These funds, sourced from the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone (Zofemat), will breathe new life into the beloved boardwalk, enhancing its appeal for both residents and visitors.

During a recent Public Works Award Commission session, the company tasked with the renovation work was approved. The extensive project will cover the entire stretch of the Malecón, from its beginning to the Cuale River bridge. Key improvements include the repair of damaged slabs, installation of additional lighting, and rehabilitation of existing electrical wiring.

Beyond structural repairs, the renovation will also focus on aesthetic and functional upgrades. The popular Dolphins Fountain will be restored, light poles will be refurbished, and new urban furniture, such as additional trash cans and benches, will be installed, while existing ones will undergo rehabilitation. This comprehensive renovation aims to significantly enhance the Malecón’s overall appearance and functionality.
