PV Governor-Elect Announces Major Traffic Improvement Plans

In a recent announcement, Jalisco’s incoming governor, Pablo Lemus Navarro, revealed plans to alleviate chronic traffic congestion in Puerto Vallarta. The centerpiece of his initiative is the construction of a modern roundabout at the Las Juntas intersection, a vital link between the city and Bahía de Banderas.

“This project is a top priority for my administration,” Lemus stated during a visit to the area. “We’re allocating 150 million pesos in the 2025 budget to get this project off the ground.” The roundabout is expected to significantly improve traffic flow, especially for travelers accessing Puerto Vallarta International Airport from Nayarit.

While the exact design of the roundabout remains to be finalized, it is anticipated to ease congestion on Highway 200, a major artery connecting the two regions. However, concerns have been raised about the potential disruptions during construction, as there are limited alternative routes.
