PV Sees Massive Economic Boost from Summer Tourism

Puerto Vallarta has experienced a significant economic surge this summer, with tourism generating approximately 3.5 billion pesos (approximately US$208 million). According to data from the city’s Tourism Promotion and Publicity Trust (Fidetur), nearly 240,000 tourists visited the destination during the summer break.

The Fidetur, which is affiliated with the Jalisco State Tourism Secretariat (Secturjal), reported that the average individual expenditure of these visitors was 14,620 pesos (approximately US$870), contributing to the substantial economic impact.

The average hotel occupancy rate during this summer period was 78.6%, representing a 9% increase compared to the same period last year. This strong performance underscores the enduring popularity of Puerto Vallarta as a premier tourist destination.
