SEAPAL Vallarta will install seven free public drinking fountains in busy public and tourism areas of Puerto Vallarta, including the Malecón.
The water agency says the first stage of its Bebederos Públicos program is designed to give residents and visitors easier access to drinking water in high-use spaces. Three fountains are planned for Unidad Deportiva Agustín Flores Contreras, with one each at Centro Cultural y Módulo Deportivo La Lija, SEAPAL’s offices, the Unidad Municipal Administrativa and the Puerto Vallarta Malecón.
For travelers, the practical value is straightforward: more public hydration points in places where families walk, exercise, wait for services or spend time outdoors. The program also fits broader Puerto Vallarta visitor basics, especially during warm, humid summer conditions when carrying water is already a smart habit.
SEAPAL said the fountains are part of a first phase, so visitors should still bring a refillable bottle and confirm whether a specific fountain is already operating before relying on it.
