El Tuito Farm-to-Table Event Returns Near Puerto Vallarta

A farm-to-table culinary event will bring Puerto Vallarta chefs and Cabo Corrientes producers to El Tuito on Sunday, August 16, for the second edition of “Del rancho a la mesa.”

The event is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at Rancho Los Lobos in El Tuito, about an inland day-trip distance from Puerto Vallarta. The official tourism-board listing describes it as a Sierra Occidental food experience built around 100 percent locally sourced products, live cooking and direct contact with regional producers.

Chef Memo Wulff of Barrio Bistro is listed as host, with participating chefs Polo Cortés of Hotel Secrets, Gaetano Simonetti of La Tosca, Mauricio Leal of icú, Rogelio Domínguez of Villa Premiere, Hugo Chávez of Azul Botanas del Mar and Jorge Cortés “Pájaro” of Restaurante Pajaritos. For visitors following the Puerto Vallarta events calendar, the gathering is a useful way to connect the city’s restaurant scene with the ranches and small producers that help define the region’s food culture.

Reservations are being handled by phone at (322) 151-7293, according to the event listings. Travelers should confirm availability, price and transportation before going, especially because El Tuito is outside the urban beach corridor.
