The Westin Resort & Spa Puerto Vallarta and Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa have been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag certification, an international recognition for excellence in sustainability.
The Blue Flag program, administered by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), evaluates beaches, marinas, and tourist boats based on criteria such as water quality, safety, social responsibility, and sustainable tourism.
Both resorts have implemented various sustainable practices, including water conservation, waste reduction, and community engagement. The Westin Resort & Spa Puerto Vallarta has reduced its use of plastic bottles and treats wastewater for reuse in irrigation. The Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa has a strong sea turtle conservation program and actively participates in coastal cleanups.
