The local tourism industry received a fantastic boost this past Tuesday as the port celebrated its first triple cruise arrival of the new year. Three massive luxury liners filled the docks simultaneously, creating a vibrant scene at the maritime terminal and bringing a wave of enthusiastic international travelers to the city’s historic center.
The synchronized arrivals began at dawn when the Nieuw Amsterdam pulled into port at 6:00 a.m. It was soon joined by the Emerald Princess at 7:30 a.m., and finally the Carnival Panorama, one of the bay’s most impressive regular visitors, at 8:50 a.m. This coordinated effort by port authorities ensured thousands of guests were able to disembark smoothly to enjoy a day of sun, shopping, and local flavors.
This successful Tuesday event represented a significant milestone in a busy January schedule that anticipates a total of 24 ship visits. With five arrivals already completed this month, the city is now looking forward to its next major maritime event: another triple docking scheduled for January 21, which is expected to further energize the local economy.
The momentum from this week builds upon an incredible performance in 2025, during which the city welcomed 171 cruises. Last year’s maritime activity brought in over half a million passengers and nearly 200,000 crew members, contributing an economic benefit of more than 1.2 billion pesos to the region.
