World’s Best Spirits to be Judged in Jalisco

Jalisco is preparing to host the 27th edition of the Spirits Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. This internationally renowned competition will evaluate spirits from around the world, celebrating their quality, flavor, and balance. The event is a particularly significant opportunity for Mexican distillates, with a large number of local producers vying for top honors.

From September 7th to 13th, the competition will bring together master blenders, buyers, importers, journalists, and other experts from 42 countries. Unlike previous years, this edition will be held across several strategic locations in Jalisco, including tastings in Guadalajara and the Magic Town of Tequila, tours along the Raicilla Route, and a special gastronomic gathering for the judges in Puerto Vallarta.

This year, the competition will analyze 62 categories with a total of 2,550 samples from 70 countries, with a remarkable 20% of entries coming from Mexico.

The judging process is a meticulous closed-door affair, with a panel of 150 judges performing technical tastings under controlled conditions of temperature, light, and acoustics. The full results of the competition are scheduled to be published on September 29th on the official website, spiritsselection.com.
