The added capacity is tied to five Canadian cities. Reported weekly frequencies to Puerto Vallarta rise from 13 to 17 from Edmonton, 4 to 5 from Kelowna, 3 to 5 from Regina, 4 to 5 from Saskatoon, and 6 to 12 from Winnipeg. Together, the increases represent 56 extra monthly flights and an estimated 9,744 additional seats when calculated on Boeing 737 aircraft with up to 174 passengers.
WestJet’s own winter sun announcement also confirms broader growth across Latin America and the Caribbean, including added Saskatoon-Puerto Vallarta service, more Winnipeg-Puerto Vallarta frequencies and seasonal Dreamliner flying to Puerto Vallarta from Calgary.
