In a concerted effort to ensure the peace and tranquility of residents and tourists in Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas, the Interregional Metropolitan Area of Bahía de Banderas met. This initiative aims to maintain coordinated efforts in security matters among the three levels of government.
José Juan Velázquez Hernández, the Secretary General of the Puerto Vallarta City Council, representing Mayor Luis Munguía, emphasized that security is a top priority for this destination, which ranks among the safest in the country. Velázquez Hernández also highlighted the importance of support from the Navy, the Secretariat of National Defense, the National Guard, and other authorities in achieving this goal.
For his part, the mayor of Bahía de Banderas, Héctor Santana, emphasized the excellent working relationship with President Luis Munguía, which is key to ensuring both municipalities remain safe and combatting the main crimes afflicting the region. During the meeting, emphasis was placed on continuing to reinforce security strategies, especially against extortion, and maintaining coordinated efforts for the upcoming long weekend, when thousands of vacationers are expected to arrive at both destinations.
