Nayarit Beaches Earn Prestigious Blue Flag Awards

Three stunning beaches in Nayarit have been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag certification for 2024-2025, recognizing their exceptional environmental quality and safety standards. Nuevo Nayarit, Lo de Marcos, and La Marina de la Cruz de Huanacaxtle were honored at a ceremony hosted by the Bahía de Banderas Trust.

The Blue Flag is an internationally recognized eco-label awarded to beaches and marinas that meet stringent criteria for water quality, environmental management, safety, and education. Nayarit’s achievement underscores its commitment to preserving its natural beauty and providing a world-class experience for visitors.

Beyond the beaches, Nayarit’s Santa María del Oro lagoon also received a Blue Flag, a first for a Latin American body of water. The state is now aiming to expand this recognition to the entire coastal stretch from Sayulita to La Cruz de Huanacaxtle.
