Puerto Vallarta, one of the leading destinations in hotel occupancy in December

According to DataTur, during week 48 of this year, from November 27th to December 3rd, Puerto Vallarta secured the second position in hotel occupancy with 75%, surpassed only by Cancun, which recorded 75.7%.

Los Cabos took the third position with 70.9%, maintaining the same occupancy as in the same period of 2022. Other cities included in the report are Mexico City with 66.2%, Villahermosa with 63.3%, Puebla with 56.9%, and Aguascalientes with 56.1%.

In contrast, Queretaro obtained 48.4%, Tuxtla Gutierrez 42.5%, San Cristobal de Las Casas 34.9%, San Miguel de Allende 34%, and Acapulco did not provide data due to the passage of Hurricane Otis.

It is important to note that recently, the Tourism Trust of Puerto Vallarta reported that the city remains among the top 10 preferred destinations for the U.S. market during winter holidays. This recognition is based on a survey conducted by Allianz Partners, a travel insurance specialist company, which analyzed over 3.1 million travel plans, including round-trip flights from U.S. airports between December 16th and 29th. The survey revealed a significant increase in the preference for international destinations during this festive season.
