Puerto Vallarta has launched Operation Lifesaver Summer 2026, a coordinated beach-safety and emergency-response effort for the summer vacation period running from June 30 through August 30, 2026.
The program is led locally by the Mexican Navy through the Twelfth Naval Zone, with support from municipal police, Civil Protection, city government and state and federal authorities. Banderas News reported that 127 Navy personnel are being deployed in the Puerto Vallarta area, supported by one maritime surveillance vessel, three rescue boats and six land vehicles.
