Puerto Vallarta is hosting the inaugural WTA Category 125 tournament on the west coast of Mexico

From February 19 to 25, 2024, the Parque Parota will witness this event, where over 30 tennis players will participate in 50 matches, competing for a prize money of $125,000.

Gustavo Santoscoy Arriaga, co-director of the tournament, emphasized the significance of this event in the Magical Port of Puerto Vallarta, which stands as the first tournament of the season in Mexico. This provides players with a crucial opportunity to accumulate points in their international ranking from the beginning of the calendar.

Similarly, Gustavo Santoscoy García expressed his enthusiasm for offering the local and international community an experience close to elite tennis. “Puerto Vallarta is a city where tennis is practiced and lived intensely, with a prominent local and international community. We are delighted to bring high-level women’s tennis to the coast,” he said.

Tickets for this exciting event will be available starting December 22, 2023, through Boletomóvil. With the support of the government of Jalisco and the local municipality, Puerto Vallarta is preparing to establish itself as a leading destination for Women’s Tennis Association tournaments in Latin America, joining cities such as Guadalajara, Monterrey, Mérida, and San Luis Potosí. This tournament promises to be the first of many in the thrilling tennis scene of the region.
