Mexican Navy Deploys Personnel and Coast Guard in Vallarta
As the Semana Santa (Holy Week) holiday period approaches, the Mexican Navy (Semar), through the Navy of Mexico, has activated “Operation Lifeguard Holy Week 2025” to ensure the safety of vacationers in beach destinations like Puerto Vallarta. The operation began this Thursday.
In the Twelfth Naval Zone based in Puerto Vallarta, over 80 personnel will be deployed from April 10th to 27th. According to an official statement, the objective is to provide security and surveillance to protect the safety of national and international tourists.
Surveillance will be reinforced on the most popular tourist beaches in Puerto Vallarta and the surrounding region, with personnel carrying out Coast Guard duties in coordination with Civil Protection, institutions, and authorities from other levels of government.
For this operation, 83 naval personnel, 10 maritime surveillance units including ships and smaller vessels for sea rescue, and 4 land vehicles have been deployed. The official statement emphasizes the importance of observing and respecting the instructions issued by the Port Captain regarding sea conditions and tide levels.
