Playa de Oro Receives White Flag Certification

On April 9th, 2025, Playa de Oro was awarded the prestigious Beach Quality Certification and White Flag from Mexico’s Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat).

The certification was presented by Luis Eduardo Alarcón Núñez, Director of Operations of the Mexican Institute for Standardization and Certification, at a ceremony held on Playa de Oro, adjacent to the Krystal Vallarta hotel. The award acknowledges that the 590-meter stretch of beach meets stringent national standards encompassing water quality, cleanliness, biodiversity, infrastructure, safety, and waste management.

Mayor Luis Munguía expressed pride in the accomplishment, noting that Playa de Oro’s certification is part of a broader initiative to achieve similar recognition for 15 beaches across Puerto Vallarta.
