Puerto Vallarta has parasailing and other watersports available in the many beaches along the Bahia de Banderas. The most popular spot is at Los Muertos Beach.

WaveRunners, banana boats, and parasailing are available, check the available rates and in the low season never pay the initial price they offer, you are in Mexico so you need to develop your haggling skills :-).

Bahia de Banderas is a natural haven for watersports since the sea is generally quite calm and parasailing is exceptionally good, safe and fun.

This activity is mostly enjoyed south of Nuevo Vallarta, the further north you go, the more wind and surf you find, something that attracts other sports fans like kitesurfers, surfers, and windsurfers. Most watersport activities, including, jet skis, kayaks, and others, are available from most hotels.

When it comes to floating around the bay in a parachute, dragged along by a motorboat, there is no need to reserve online, no need to fall into the hands of a timeshare salesman on the street, you just go to the nearest beach and there’ll be options galore.

A ride typically lasts no more than 15 minutes and takes you on a circular path out into the bay and back, you normally float along parallel the beach for a while and take off and land on the soft sand.

You’ll be equipped with a full body harness that holds the special parachute. Safety should always a top priority and try to follow the instructions as closely as possible and all will be fine, parasailing accidents are very rare (I’ve never had issues or known of any problems).

Floating above it all makes this a great photo opportunity, so ask the team if you can take a camera along, save a few shots for video and get some great views of the beach, the hotels and the panorama from above, for your online photo album and to impress your FB friends too.
