The University of Guadalajara's Centro Universitario de la Costa will welcome actors, film directors and movie fanatics from all over the world to the biggest cinema related event in the area and they'll celebrate this milestone by going all out with the Catalonia region as the guest of honor.

From March 12 to 23, moviegoers will enjoy twelve consecutive days of a selection of more than 40 films from Mexico and the world, with the region of Catalonia as guest of honor. Parks and public forums, educational and cultural institutions, shopping centers, restaurants and other entertainment centers have been added as screening venues for this year's featured films.

This year's program includes more than 40 film screenings that are free and open to the general public; divided into eleven sections: Official, Academic, Senior, Environmental, Cross-border Cinema, Short Films, Echoes of the Cork Film Festival, Gourmet, Children, Musical and Maguey Awards.

The International Film Festival in Puerto Vallarta (FICPV) also includes the delivery of the "Golden Iguana" award, to prominent figures from the world of cinema, and parallel activities such as the Huston Film and Literature Chair. In its 18th edition, the FICPV will recognize with the golden award: director, screenwriter and producer Erika Lust; director and television producer, Dan Attias; to the production of the documentary by Jean-Michel Cousteau and Jean-Jacques Mantello, The Wonders of the Sea; and Irish screenwriter Mark O'Halloran.

This year the event will be called Voilá! and will combine circus, orchestra, and the presentation of more than 150 young artists. It will be held at Bodega Circo, located on one side of the Bodega 3 on Tercer Mundo Avenue. The show kicks off at 7:30 p.m.

From March 21-24, this school—located in the tourism destination of San Francisco, Nayarit, known as the Cultural Capital of the Riviera Nayarit—will be transformed into an elaborate, fabulous stage for the talented kids and teens in this unique production. On this occasion, the Puerto Vallarta Orchestra School will be joining them.

The Circo de los Niños was created in 2011 by Gilles Ste-Croix, co-founder of the Cirque du Soleil, and designed by Monique Voyer. What started as an introduction to the circus arts has become a one-of-a-kind school with a professional team of instructors and an ever-growing number of students looking to experiment with the magic of the circus and other performing arts.

The children chosen to participate in the show live in San Pancho and Sayulita, and many of them have been with the program since its inception. They work hard five days a week from one to five hours a day, depending on their age, interest, and level of instruction. All proceeds from the event will be funneled to the youth program for San Pancho’s Circo de los Niños. The seats are all general admission, with the exception of a special area designated for the donors to the Dreamcatchers fund.
