The local Navy League Council is already hard at work preparing for the 22nd consecutive year of raising funds to distribute toys to needy kids during the Christmas holidays. They’re collaborating with their many local sponsors, importantly including the Marriott CasaMagna Resort & Spa, Vista Vallarta Golf Club, Coldwell Banker Real Estate, and others to make this the best year ever.
Over the past 21 years, the local Toys for Tots program has distributed more than 175,000 toys (and smiles!) to some of the neediest kids throughout the Bahia. This year we hope to raise enough money to hand out at least another 8,000 toys! In addition, we plan to add to the dozens of playgrounds we’ve constructed over the past 20+ years.
Next up will be the annual Toys for Tots Charity Ball at the Marriott Hotel the evening of December 8. It will be an evening of great dancing and a delicious dinner served by the award-winning Marriott chef. Again, contact Jerry Lafferty if you also plan to attend the Dinner/Dance.

As a result of a new promotional push in the United States, there’s a new charter flight announced to connect Kansas City, Missouri with Puerto Vallarta-Riviera Nayarit for the 2019-2020 season.
This new charter flight is offered through Vacations Express by Sunwing, operated by VivaAerobus. It will be a direct flight with two operational stages: from February 16 until March 15, and from May 24 until August 2, 2020, with one weekly flight (on Sundays) covering both the winter and summer seasons of 2020 and offering 6-night vacation packages.
According to Vacation Express, the new route will use A-320 planes with 180 seats, which translates into roughly 2,500 new seats for the Vallarta-Nayarit region.
Kansas City is currently fourteenth in number of passengers that arrive at Puerto Vallarta’s “Lic. Gustavo Díaz Ordaz” Airport, currently their flights all connect through Dallas, Houston or Denver. This new connection is proof of the trust and preference the US market shows for our region.
