The Lázaro Cárdenas park, located right in the heart of the Emiliano Zapata Colonia in what is known as the Romantic Zone or Old Vallarta, is being renovated on the occasion of Vallarta's Centennial celebrations, the park will transform it into an outdoors gallery with functional spaces.

In charge of this colorful project called Mosayko Vallarta is the artist Natasha Moraga, who is the author who gave color to other emblematic areas such as Puerto Vallarta Sing, the murals at Marina and the pews of the Boardwalk leading to the pier. This auto funded projects is open for the whole community by inviting people to sponsor the project through the purchase of personalized plates tiles that are made during a three-day course taught personally by the artist.

To take these available courses you can book at the project's website and they are available for the months of February, March and April on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on a schedule from 9 am to 1 pm; they have a cost of $250 dollars which all materials needed for the production of plate are included.

The different tiles to make are celebration tiles, memorials tiles, name tiles, business tiles, custom pet tiles and even a bench tile is available for family or friends.With society contribution, the Puerto Vallarta’s Centennial will lead to leave a better legacy for future generations. In celebration of Puerto Vallarta's 100th annivesary and as part of the Centennial 2018 festivities, Vallarta will hold a marathon on Sunday, April 15th. This marks a milestone for the town because it's the first time a full marathon will take place in the city.

The convening of this event is open to runners and general public under the following categories: Free: 18-39 years; Master: 40-49 years; Veteran: 50-59 years and Veteran Plus: 60 years and older. The award includes three absolute winners with prizes of $10,000; $6,000 and $5,000 for the first, second and third place respectively. In the same way the winners of each marathon category will get $4,000; $3,000 and $2,000; meanwhile the half marathon winners will have $2,000; $1,500 and $1,000 respectively. Times and results will be published on the website .

Start and finish for the marathon will be at the port terminal at 6:30 in the morning along with the half marathon race. To finish the competition organizers have established 6 and 3 hours respectively.

Registration fee is $500 up to March 31 and $600 until April 13. For registered competitors number and chip delivery will be at the Puerto Vallarta’s Marathon Expo on April 14 on a schedule from 9:00 to 18:00 hours. Competition register is available online at, by sending an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. Incanto Theatre announced its upcoming cello recital, a classical music concert full of talented and awarded musicians you can’t miss next February 17 and 24. The recital will feature Donald Moline, accompanied by Jean-Guy Comeau, both performing a suite for cello and orchestra especially composed for this event: Canciones de Vallarta, which will be performed for the first time as a World Premiere.

Donald Moline is a Grammy Award winner cellist and has established a distinguished orchestral, chamber music, solo and recording career. A member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for more than 39 years, he has been awarded the Theodore Thomas Medallion and has performed worldwide with some of the greatest conductors and musicians. Jean-Guy Comeau holds degrees in pedagogy, voice and piano; and works in Montreal and Puerto Vallarta.

The two will be performing Canciones de Vallarta, a suite composed especially for the event by 10-time EMMY-winning musician John Henry Kreitier, a well-known composer of concert, film, TV and theatre music, who resides part time in Mismaloya. All of the proceeds from these events will go to IAMPV (Instituto de Artes Musicales Puerto Vallarta), a non-profit organization that provides musical education for students in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit.

Both evenings will begin with drinks and hors d’oeuvres  at 6:00pm, followed by a 7:00pm concert. During the first hour there will be performances by some IAMPV students. Incanto Theatre is located at Insurgentes 109, Col. The 'Gala Puerto Vallarta- Riviera Nayarit 2018' took place this past monday and tuesday, february 12th and 13th. Considered one of the most important events in the country's turism industry, the gala is celebrating its 24th edition and it gathered national and international distributors, wholesalers and hotel representatives.


In its 24th edition, the Municipal Dicrector of Tourism -Ramón González Lomelí- attened the gala on behalf of the Municipal President -Arturo Davalos Peña- and welcomed some 65 wholesalers that gathered this year, of which 25 are from Mexico and 40 are from foreign countries, including the US, Canada and Peru, all of whom negotiated with the 95 participating hotels.

This event allows the attendees to establish relationships with the hotels for the upcoming seasons in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit, it also boosts the natural assets of the area and the tourism industry of the bay.
