If you check out our map of the zones in Puerto Vallarta, you’ll notice that just south of downtown Puerto Vallarta, crossing the Cuale River, you arrive in what is called the Romantic Zone or Old Vallarta (Viejo Vallarta).

This part of town offers a traditional feel, more like a Mexican town, with square blocks, small stores, cobblestone streets and the very popular Cafe Street (Olas Altas St.) and the most active beach in town: Los Muertos Beach.

More photos from downtown Puerto Vallarta, from all the different zones, the Marina, the hotel zone, downtown, the Romantic Zone (Old Vallarta) and the south zone.
