U.S. College Football Game Watching?

Post by rowtyd » Wed Sep 12, 2007 2:26 am

I will be in PV on a Saturday in October on a cruise. I can't miss a U.S. nationally televised college football game. Is there anywhere I can go in PV to watch the game? Any recommendations? (It will be broadcast on CBS.)

I am sure that some of the sports bars will be carrying some of the football games... now whether they will have your CBS game on it is hard to say... what game is so important that you can miss it? Michigan and Notre Dame aren't doing all that great... HA HA HA....

On a Saturday, there is a good chance that you can see a College Football game at La Escondida, 210 Jacarandas corner of Madero in Old Vallarta. I am sure that Suzanne the owner or one of the staff, will find your game. If you want to stay close to the Maritine Docks, Champions at the Mariott, close by has all the games too. Not as homey and a lot more expensive.

A copy of my post from back in March.

Cafe Roma - Encino #287 - Thin crust pizza - Big screen TV - Just north of the river

El Torito - I.L. Vallarta #290 - Many TVs - Great ribs & Chicken

La Escondida - Jacarandas #210 - Fun neighborhood sports bar

Steve's Sports Bar - Basilio Badillo #286 - The place for NASCAR and hockey

Que?Pasa - Aquiles Serdan #625 - Fun bar - Might have music at night

No Name - on the Malecón - Got charged WAY to much for drinks there, haven't been back.

ALABAMA VS TENNESSEE

UA Season ticket holder (and I can't believe I have booked a cruise during this game but it involved more people than me). The traditional "3rd Saturday in Oct" game is that important to me. If available, I have to see it. I will have my portable Sirius but not sure I will get reception. Any advice on where to watch the game is appreciated. I am almost certain it will be the SEC CBS game. Thanks.

I'm willing to contact owners via email and ask if you have links to their websites.

Not so Chico. They have not all been announced as yet. Google, while good is not the end all, be all.

They haven't even announced the kickoff time yet, much less TV coverage.

Gee Howard, I guess we'll be a little busy and just have to miss that game eh :) See ya in paradise, buddy.

Marshall & I are due in that day around 2:20 PM. I figure in less then 2-3 hours, we will be on our way to La Escondida for a drink. No game on Sunday that I must watch, but will be there Monday night to watch the Jags/Colts game.

We don't touch down until around 4:00, so if we don't hook up sooner, we'll see you at La Escondida to root for your Jags.

Howard & Ted

Post by pvdeb » Sat Sep 15, 2007 8:36 pm

Sports...ho hum. Howard, while you and Ted are flying, dropping luggage and looking for your first drink, Kat and I should be on our N-th drink and "no gracias-es" for the day (except when her favorite jewelry vendor comes by) somewhere on the beach. See you both at sunset!

Deb,
Meeting up with that Samuel that early into the trip just might mean we will be selling chicklets on the beach sooner than we expected. But then again....he will have more time to find/make us the really different stuff.

Burro is fine by me. Long as 7pm gets us there for sunset. I bet we won't have to twist Ted and Gail's arms either. I'll take you up on that drink offer. You know I don't drink much.

Kat, I plan to pace my jewelry shopping. Yeah right, if you believe that let me tell you about my swampland.

I am sure that Ted can tell us the time for the Sunset. After all he will not take a drink until the Sun is over the yard arm. OK, so I lie. LMAO
