Health Care Services..Crossing for Care

Post by Plus4 » Mon Aug 21, 2006 11:05 pm

An interesting article in the Banderas News

http://www.banderasnews.com/0608/hb-crossingforcare.htm
The article is about the States and Mexico..could we include Canada :?
In Alberta we have a shortage of thousands of Doctors. I believe this is an issue across Can.
Waiting times are long.
Good Luck finding a family Doctor.
Hours upon hours wait in merg rooms.

My daughter needs a lot of Dental work .
She has her husbands Insurance coverage till next year.
Because of divorce she will not have coverage after that.
Friends and fam have said take her to Mexico to get her work done.
A vacation and dental work for less than the cost of her dental work in Can.
A thought and not far fetched! :)
We are hearing about more and more folks traveling to Mexico for health care.
Thoughts?

I've always gotten good medical and dental care in Mexico and would not hesitate to go to a doctor or dentist there again if I needed one.

Sylvia,

I would suggest that she go down to PV to have her dental work done a) because then mom has an excuse to head down there and look after her :D and b) after all she's been through lately I do believe she deserves a trip to PV! What a fantastic way for her to recuperate from everything!

My friend Kassiano that lives in PV, his sister is a flight attendant for Air Jamaica... and when she comes over from Jamaica for a visit, she gets her dental and medical work done in Mexico... she had some bridge work done in PV for around $2500 US that would have cost her well over $10k US back in Jamaica or the US....

I think Sylvia it is time for a road trip for you and your daughter to head on down to PV for some dental work. There was a DDS down around the corner from the GCP that had all his credentials from the University of Illinois. Kind of surprising as well....

Good luck...
