The First National Skateboarding Series will be held in Puerto Vallarta

At a press conference held at the facilities of the Municipal Sports Council (COMUDE), the details of the ‘1st. National Serial of Skateboarding Street 2022′, to be held in Puerto Vallarta from April 8 to 10, at the skatepark of the sports unit ‘Agustín Flores Contreras’. Humberto Guzmán Núñez and Fernando Alonso González Cibrián, sports promoters of skateboarding in the bay, as well as Héctor Martín García Ninomiya, sports advisor at COMUDE, were present at this press conference, who reported that for the first time A national championship of this specialty will be held in our city, highlighting the participation of these enthusiastic promoters who have made important efforts to establish spaces for the practice of this discipline and its maintenance.

The foregoing as a result of the unconditional support of many people who, together with the municipal government, are working so that skateboarding grows for the benefit of new generations, in addition to the important work of Rebeca Scotti, President of the SkateBoarding League. The ‘1st. National Serial of Skateboarding Street 2022′, will be a qualifying event with national ranking and scoring towards Paris 2024, so the Agustín Flores Contreras skatepark is currently being prepared to hold the tournament. They added that in Mexico there are only three tournaments a year and this will be the first of them, which will give points to those who will be representing us at the Olympic Games in Europe, so the presence in this city of between 40 and 60 participants is expected. , with the best of skateboarding from all over the country, which also represents a valuable economic benefit.

The promoters were recognized for all the actions they have taken for this sport, including investing and remodeling their facilities for the practice of skateboarding, and now part of the event is intended to raise funds to continue preparing more spaces in abandoned places so that they can have more options.

The open category is from 13 to 18 years old, both in the women’s and men’s branches, in addition to the presence of highly experienced competitors, it is expected to make a small exhibition of high level to the public. This event has the support of the municipal government, CODE Jalisco and the Mexican Federation of Roller Skates (FEMEPAR)
