According to the website US News, Puerto is the best place to retire among all destinations in Mexico.

It is not a secret that Mexico has beautiful travel destinations, featuring beaches, historic attractions, archeological sites and one of the most extensive and delicious cuisines in the world. Our country is also known for being an affordable paradise for people retired from the United States and Canada due to its weather, natural beauty, proximity and air connection to cities in both neighboring nations, as well as a low living cost.  Early this week, the American online news source U.S.News published a special feature The 8 Best Places to Retire in Mexico, and Puerto Vallarta was appointed number one.

“In Puerto Vallarta, the warm weather and picturesque location are enhanced by the colonial charm of cobblestone streets and Spanish architecture. Locals are fun and friendly, the seafood is fresh and delicious and this region of Mexico is the birthplace of Tequila. In other words, Puerto Vallarta has all the elements of a party just waiting to happen,” the article mentions.

The rest of the Mexican cities by order of appearance are: Tulum (Quintana Roo), San Miguel de Allende (Guanajuato), Mexico City, Guanajuato (Guanajuato), Barra de Navidad (Jalisco), San Cristobal de las Casas (Chiapas) and Morelia (Michoacán).

Air Canada announced several new flights and an increase in many flights to sunny destinations for this summer and winter travel season. The new flights coincide with Air Canada taking possession of its new Boeing 737MAX aircraft.

The new seasonal Air Canada flights include flights between Calgary and Palm Springs, as well as flights between Edmonton and Las Vegas. These daily seasonal flights will commence on October 28 this year, running through April 30, 2019. All of these flights will take place on the Airbus A319 or A320 jets, depending on which route you are traveling.

The airline will also increase flight frequency from Calgary to Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos, Mexico and Phoenix. Increases in flights between Vancouver and Palm Springs and Phoenix have also been scheduled.

In addition to these new services, Air Canada will launch new and increased service from Western Canada to Hawaii on its new Boeing 737MAX aircraft. Air Canada will launch many of these services to begin in the winter season. Many people travel from Canada to warmer destinations during the bitterly cold winter months. It is more popular for vacationers to travel during winter than summer months because of the weather conditions.

Southwest, one of the largest domestic airlines in the United States, inaugurated its new San Diego-Puerto Vallarta routes, as well as San Jose and Sacramento, California, to Los Cabos, Baja California Sur.

Brad Hawkins, a spokesman for Southwest Airlines, said it is an honor to be able to offer travelers from both countries the option to fly conveniently, with low fares, two free checked bags and no charges for reservation changes. “These new non-stop flights translate into less travel time and more time to explore the incredible destinations we offer,” he said when opening the San Diego-Puerto Vallarta commercial flight that departed at 7:00 am local time and arrived two hours later.

In a festive atmosphere, American and Mexican tourists residing in the country were received by the airline’s staff at the San Diego International Airport, from where they departed to reach Puerto Vallarta. He pointed out that both Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos, since they started operations in 2014, are very important for Southwest, since they are highly sought-after destinations for US tourists looking to vacation on Mexican beaches.

Southwest Airlines announced last month its intention to begin transporting cargo to international destinations, starting in May 2018, including Mexico City, Cancun, Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta.
