Volaris inaugurates 6 new routes from Felipe Angeles International Airport

This week, Volaris launched six new domestic routes from AIFA’s Felipe Angeles International Airport, bringing its total number of destinations to over 11. With the introduction of these new routes, the low-cost airline takes the top spot among airline operators at AIFA, offering 126,863,629 seat kilometers (ASK).

Guadalajara (GDL), Oaxaca (OAX), Puerto Escondido (PXM), Puerto Vallarta (PVR), La Paz (LAP), and San Jose del Cabo (SJD) are among the new non-stop destinations for the firm; in the latter two, it is the sole operator.

In the greater Mexico City area, Volaris operates out of three airports, providing more than 240,000 monthly seats from Benito Juarez Airport (MEX), more than 24,000 from Felipe Angeles International Airport (NLU), and more than 15,000 from Toluca (TLC). In order to serve all the areas near the Mexican capital, the low-cost carrier there aims to keep expanding its capacity.

With 13,111,851 passengers and 12,967.6 tons of cargo mobilized in 85,499 flight operations, Volaris is the primary domestic airline operator in Mexico between January and July 2022, according to data received by Aviacionline through the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC).

There are two daily flights to Cancun (CUN).
Flights to Guadalajara (GDL) are available on a daily basis.
Huatulco (HUX) has three flights per week.
Three flights per week go to La Paz (LAP).
Everyday flights to Merida (MID).
Flights to Mexicali (MXL) depart every day.
Four flights every week go to Oaxaca (OAX).
Three flights per week go to Puerto Escondido (PXM).
Flights leave every day for Puerto Vallarta (PVR).
San Jose del Cabo (SJD) receives four weekly flights.
Tijuana (TIJ) has daily flights.
All flights are operated by Airbus A320neo aircraft with a single configuration of 186 seats.

According to information received by Aviacionline through Cirium, Volaris will have a monthly ticket offering of 108,624 seats in 584 operations serving 11 domestic destinations at Felix Angeles Airport, and will hold a 46% share of the NLU market. The business hasn’t yet made any announcements about a worldwide service from AIFA.
