Mexico’s 212th Independence Anniversary activities in Puerto Vallarta

After two years owing to the pandemic, the Puerto Vallarta government starts face-to-face events.

Mexican Independence Day marks the start of the conflict that abolished Spain’s colonial control. Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a Roman Catholic priest, rang his church bell and called for war on September 16, 1810.

  • Puerto Vallarta’s celebrations begin on September 13.
  • On September 14, as part of National Charro Day, 12 Charro associations will parade. The march will begin in Emiliano Zapata at Basilio Badillo and Ignacio L. Vallarta and proceed north to Morelos Street, the Malecón, and Mexico Avenue before ending on Nicaragua Street.
