In 2010, the event brought in a high number of visiting competitors from 20 countries, and helped promote our destination along with local economic benefits. In 2012, we’re expecting that these effects will be even greater,” stated Fernando Gonz·lez Ortega, Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) President.

The “Regata Copa Mexico Olympic Edition” will help promote the natural beauty and infrastructure of the Mexican Pacific coast, it will help boost tourism to our country, and will benefit the local economy and sponsor sailing as a sport. The Federal Tourism Secretariat, the Government of Nayarit, the Mexican Sailing Federation, and the CVB of Riviera Nayarit will also support the event itself.

The Regata Copa Mexico will include the following categories: Mexorc (Oce·nicas), J24, Windsurf, Kitesurf, Laser, 420, and Optimist, this last category will attract young competitors between 6 and 14 years old.
