It was announced by the Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP) on Friday that the International Airports Council had named the Puerto Vallarta air terminal as the best for hygiene.

An ACI survey of passengers from different airports led to this award, which was given out after 370,000 surveys were done.

However, as of 2020, new questions related to health and hygiene were added to the questionnaire. These allow airports to better understand the response of users to the new health measures related to COVID-19 and the corresponding award category. It recognises airports that have responded successfully in the eyes of travellers.

“After a second year of the pandemic, this year’s ASQ award winners especially reflect leadership in customer experience during the most challenging time in our industry’s history,” said ACI CEO Luis Felipe de Oliveira.

For his part, the general director of GAP, Ral Revuelta Musalem, explained that “this award is of enormous value to the group, since it is the passenger who recognises the great work that the airport performs to maintain healthy spaces and implement professional biosafety protocols.”

This recognition demonstrates that the Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP) and, specifically, the Puerto Vallarta International Airport, are committed to maintaining and improving their sanitary standards to safeguard the public health of all passengers, companions, collaborators, and the airport community, delivering confidence with a priority on health and safety in a measurable, coordinated, and continuous way.
